Fourth Grade News
March 15 - 19
Math - Unit 8 lessons 6 - 8. We will be finding area of triangles rectangles and parallelograms. We have a test next Friday.
Reading - We will be reading from the Storytown anthology. The theme for this set of stories is "Imagination at Work" .This week we are reading the novel Stone Fox.
Language/Writing - We will follow the "Writer's Workshop" model for daily writing. We have begun writing in our"Voice Your Life" books. Please encourage your child to continue collecting memorabilia. We are focusing on a persuasive paragraph.
Spelling - We will explore the spelling patterns for /yu/ and /u/. We are also reviewing homophones The core words for this week are : road, blue, instead, either and held.
Social Studies - We will be memorizing the N.E. states and their capitals.
Technology - We are going to be playing some games to reinforce our social studies unit.

Please remember that we have a school policy that prohibits the use of electronic devises . This includes cell phones as well as games.
