Welcome to Coach Gross' webpage! Here is a little background information about my teaching experience and education:
This is my 10th year teaching physical education in SAD #6. Overall, I have been teaching for 12 years. All of my education was at the University of Maine at Orono. I have two BS degrees: one in Physical Education (1998) and another Elementary Education. (1990), a Master's degree in Middle Level Education. (1995)
The physical education program at the Buxton Schools is enhanced by a variety of actvities throughout the year. Students participate in games and activities for the purpose of keeping their bodies healthy and strong, learning new skills, showing appropriate sportsmanship, and becoming lifelong exercisers.
The following chart shows a sample of the activities students could participate in during the school year:

The fitness assessment portion consists of the following assessments and body areas:
Mile Walk/Jog/Run: cardiovascular fitness (fall and spring)
Sit Up Assessment: core strength (winter and spring)
Push Up Assessment: upper body strength (winter and spring)
Flexibility: upper and lower body (on-going)
