Twelfth Night performed at Bonny Eagle High School

Making a parallel between Shakespeare's story of a woman in a strange land, and the experience of a student arriving at a new school, this Bonny Eagle Drama Club's production of Twelfth Night told a story that makes sense to high school students. The BEHS drama club performed the play before delighted audiences in November.

The production, while presenting funny high school characters, retains Shakespeare's original language so the students have the opportunity to learn how to understand the language in modern terms and speak in a believable fashion that the audience can easily understand and enjoy. The result is a hilarious madcap comedy of errors that kept the audience laughing from start to finish.
Rick Osann, Bonny Eagle High School theatre teacher, explains, "Too often Shakespeare's plays are presented as great historical literature and we lose track of the fact that Shakespeare wrote terrific and funny plays about real people in real situations. In this production we wanted to find a way for high school students to be able to relate to the characters in the play."

Stage level L-R: Ayla Libby, Alexis Pinkham, Brittney Cacace, Ryan Biggs, Sean Colby, Angelica Phipps, Mikayla Welch, Spencer Hugo-Vidal, Corey Mitts, and Devan Arnold.
