Bonny Eagle Fall Math Meet
October 31, 2009
The Twenty-First Annual Fall District Math Meet was held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Bonny Eagle High School. There were 56 fifth and sixth graders from throughout the district competing for top honors in the areas of arithmetic, geometry and problem solving. In each category students were given a test consisting of six problems with varying degrees of difficulty. This year, thirty-one ribbons were awarded to the top 3 scorers in each of the categories. Overall winners for each grade level and for the district were also honored. A complete list of winners is attached.
Many thanks to the following volunteers who worked at the Math Meet: Tom Ashby, Mary Bowe, Allison Burnell, Ilse Burns, Diane Gagne, Don Gnecco, Kathy Harriman, Stephanie McAllister, Cathy McLaughlin, Kim OĠDonnell, Lowell Oyster, Doug Parker, Kristie Pellerin, Angie Shiers, Ansel Stevens, Gloria Stevens, Bill Warner, Gail Wormwood, and Paige Wormwood. The success of this event is due in a large part to the efforts of this dedicated group of staff members. A special thank you is due to Ginny Day and Clay Gleason who were the Masters of Ceremonies for the event and to Karen Pfeiffenberger and Karen Harmon who acted as Head Monitors. We also appreciate the support of all the teachers and principals who encouraged the students to participate in this event.
