The first grade students at Jack Memorial School in Buxton, Maine are studying the ocean especially tidepools and the creatures that inhabit them. We have taken a fieldtrip to explore the tidepools and visit the creatures. Many sources are being used to find out more about them and to find out if tide pools are the same or different around the world. To research this we are using the Internet to communicate with people who will visit tide pools around the world and who are kind enough to take time to write and answer our questions. Also, we use sources on the internet to research more information about the sea life found in and around them. We would like to share our findings with whomever would like to find out more about this topic. Some classrooms and people who do not have access to the ocean from where they live can use this information on our website to learn about tide pool life. It is a virtual fieldtrip without getting wet! However that part is fun but a little cold in this part of the world.

E-mail us at mcalpins_class@sad6.k12.me.us and we will share what we know with you.
