Forming Partnerships With Our Schools and Community


Mission Statement:
The Buxton PTO is a community of parents, teachers, students, and support staff who have joined together to educate and nurture the children of the citizens of Buxton. The PTO is an organization whose sole purpose is to lend its energy, talent, and time to improve the quality of the community’s education. It has been established so that teachers and parents can work together to make the community more effective in reaching its educational goals.

PTO GOALS:

  1. Promote parent and community partnerships with the schools.
  2. Sponsor informational programs for parents, students, and staff.
  3. Support the arts and enrichment programs in the schools.
  4. Encourage special projects both within and outside of the classroom.
  5. Provide funds for special class projects.
  6. Provide funds to purchase special equipment for the schools.

During the school year, meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month, except December, at 6:00pm in the Frank Jewett Library. Anyone is welcome to attend at anytime. If you are unable to attend meetings, but would like to be involved, feel free to contact a board member. We also send home notices with students prior to our fundraisers and events looking for volunteers.

On-Going School Fundraisers


This Hannaford program runs from Sept. 4th through Dec. 4th. Please save Hannaford Dollars you receive with your receipts from any Hannaford grocery store and send them into school with your child. The school that collects the most dollars receives an additional $1000.00.



Collect SOX TOPS FOR KIDS caps from bottles of Hood Milk in the LightBlock Bottles. We earn 5 ¢ per cap. Please send all caps you collect into school. Our deadline for collections is Friday, October 31st.



Clip BOX TOPS and earn cash for our schools! We earn cash for our school every time you shop for groceries. Clip Box Tops coupons from hundreds of your favorite products found at your local grocery store. Each coupon is worth 10¢ when our school redeems them. Please send any box tops you have collected over the summer and continue to send them throughout the school year.



When you purchase NESTLE PURE LIFE WATER, please peel the labels off your bottles and send them into your child's school. For each label we redeem, we receive points towards fitness and sports gear.



Clip Tyson Project A+ labels from participating Tyson products found in your grocer's freezer and send to school with your child. Each label is worth $.24 for our schools.
