Hollis School Teams participate in the Maine State Odyssey of the Mind
Three Hollis School teams participated in the Maine State Odyssey of the Mind Championship Tournament. The Goobernuts team of third graders, took First Place for their solution to Dino Stories Division I (grades 3-5) at the Maine State Odyssey of the Mind Championship.
Coach Cindy McDonough coach of the Goobernut team said: “The last week before the tournament was a lot of hard work for them. They practiced almost every day after school and worked on props until late every evening. I was happy for them, as their coach, that all of their hard work paid off in the end. This means they have earned the distinction of being eligible to represent the State of Maine at the Odyssey of the Mind World Tournament this May 31-June 3 at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD. Please wish them luck in their efforts in upcoming fund raisers to get them to Maryland! From their proud coach.”
The other teams from Hollis were:
Division I Tee Structure. They took 3rd place at the tournament. This was their first year of competing.
Goobernuts
Primary - Rude Awakenings. This team did a wonderful job solving and performing their problem this year. They were amazingly funny during their entire performance.
