Reading Is Fundamental and Fun for Student at H.B. Emery Jr. Memorial School Thanks to a grant from R.I.F. (Reading is Fundamental) as well as a contribution from M.S.A.D. #6, third graders across the district will be receiving two free paperback books this year. Macy’s Corporation also helped to fund this RIF initiative. R.I..F’S philosophy is that when children can choose their own books to keep as their own, they are motivated to read. The liberians purpose in pursuing a RIF grant is to encourage and promote pleasure reading for M.S.A.D.#6 elementary students.  A wide range of books are purchased through the grant that will be appropriate for a variety of reading levels and interests.
