GEORGE E. JACK SCHOOL GRADE 5 CHORUS HOLIDAY SHOW:

yellow dot Tuesday, December 8th, at 7:00 p.m. (Grade 4 will have a show in the spring.)

WINTER WEATHER CLOTHING:

Winter weather will soon be upon us. All students are expected to wear appropriate clothing during the winter months, including appropriate footwear. During supervised periods of outdoor recess, children are required to wear boots, or other appropriate footwear, jackets, hats & mittens/gloves on the playground through the winter months. Often we will experience a warm day where boots are still required due to the melting snow and wet conditions on the playground. We appreciate parent cooperation in stressing this requirement.

NO SCHOOL, EARLY DISMISSAL, AND 1 OR 2 HOUR DELAY:

If during the winter weather the roads are impassable, the Superintendent will close or delay the start of school for the day. Local radio stations WGAN 560 AM, WMGX 93.1 FM, WTHT 99.9 FM, WBLM 102.9 FM, WPOR 101.9 FM, WFNK 107.5 FM, and WLOB 13.10 AM will make the appropriate announcement. While it does not happen often, it is sometimes necessary to close school early. Please make arrangements for the care of your child should she/he not find you at home. YOUR CHILD SHOULD KNOW WHAT TO DO IF SHE/HE FINDS NO ONE HOME. In case of a 1 or 2 hour delay in the opening of a school day, buses would pick up 1 or 2 hours later than usual and students would thus arrive either at 9:25 a.m. or 10:25 a.m. Dismissal for all students would be at the usual time - 2:45 p.m.

TRANSPORTING STUDENTS:

When students are transported by parents, please do NOT bring them earlier than 8:25 a.m. as there is no supervision before school hours in the building or on the playground. Please sign them in at the Main Office upon arrival. When dismissing students at the end of the day, parents need to be aware that the school day ends at 2:45 p.m. and parents need to come to the Main Office to sign them out. (Students dismissed before 2:45 p.m. will be marked as "dismissed" on attendance records.) We then call students down from their classroom over the intercom. Thank you for your cooperation.
