This past Saturday, March 6th, the Bonny Eagle Middle School Science Squad took home Second Place in the State Finals of the Science Olympiad. Members included Dean Flint, Bayleigh Canonico, Dalton Canonico, Sam Clift, Devin Borchard, Jack Newberry, Nina Truslow, Raegan Young, Rachel Ratte, and David Hegarty, unable to attend but there in
mind were Carter Gleason and Austin Libby. Check out some of our pictures on the BEMS Science Squad website. We've been working on the events for the past two months so this was quite the end to a great deal of hard work put in by the students. Even more exciting, the first place Waynflete team is unable to
take their win to the National Science Olympiad so the opportunity gets passed down to the next team..... US!
Our Civil Rights Team and a selection of our Drama Club students have collaborated to write, act, and film skits about the different kinds of bullying and harassement that can occur in schools---from hallway bullying, to classroom, to locker rooms, to cyber bullying. The ideas are brainstormed as a group, scripts are written by the kids, we rehearse,
and Mrs. Linnell films them for the morning news. The ideas are so good, and so powerful. Linda is showing one video on Mondays, and one on Thursdays. We have taped five videos so far, and plan to do more.
Students are reminded that they are NOT allowed to carry any type of medication in school. This includes prescription medication and over-the-counter medications such as Advil, Tylenol and medicated coughdrops. Also, if any student is carrying an inhaler they must come to Health Services to see Mrs. Jordan during a free period. If anyone has any questions or concerns they may contact Mrs. Jordan or Mrs. Minton in Health Services.
