"We must all learn to view the secondary school years as a purposeful transition to a productive future, not as an end in itself." ... Promising Futures pg. 50

The PLP, or Personal Learning Plan, is designed to help students accomplish the mission of BEHS; to inspire excellence, responsibility, high academic achievement, and joy of learning for all students in a safe and supportive environment. It is a document for students to display their best work and accomplishments. Employers and college admissions staff will use the completed PLP to judge the student's academic ability, maturity, and motivation. The PLP will also help students to determine their future employment or post-secondary plans.

All students in grades 9-12 will employ a Personal Learning Plan (PLP) to target individual and common learning goals, which align with the Maine Learning Results guiding principles.

The Most Frequently Asked Questions about the Personal Learning Plan

Each student compiles a notebook of selected pieces of work and writing, each with a Reflection Sheet. We ask the students to identify why they chose to put this in their PLP.

We ask the students to identify what they learned, what they would change if they could do it over again, and which state wide standards are addressed in this work.
