SPRING SPORTS BEGINS - March 29.  If you have not signed up for spring sports, do so in the athletic office.  Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse, Tennis and Outdoor Track.

WINTER ATHLETES - If you have not received your winter athletic participation certificate, you may pick it up in the athletic office during homebase or lunch or after school.  

WINTER ATHLETES - The following student-athletes please stop in the athletic office to pick up swim ribbons and wrestling all-conference certificates:  Ian Smith, Justin Bryan, Neil Yarumian, Greg Judge, Jason LeClair, and Stephen Martin, Josh Lund, Kyle Mains, Patrick Gallant, Ryan Cook, Kevin Kinahan, and Max Alfiero.

DODGEBALL CAPTAINS - Please check your team list outside of room 303b.  Your teammates will not be able to play unless the waiver and money are in.  A game schedule will be up on Monday morning.

**DODGEBALL SPECTATORS** - Do you enjoy watching people get pulverized by dodgeballs?  Come watch the dodgeball tournament next Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs after school.  Cost is only $1 ($2 on Thursday for the championship) and you can take the late bus home.

TO ALL IN THE SOCIEDAD HONORARIA HISPANICA - Please come to the meeting Monday at 2:05 in Señora Vega´s room (201).  This involves a very important discussion about the induction.

ATTENTION JUNIORS – If any Junior Boy or Girl is interested in attending Boy’s State and Girl’s State this summer please see Mrs. Emerson in attendance as soon as possible.

FOR JUNIORS WHO EXCEL IN MATH & SCIENCE - The University of Maine if offering a great summer opportunity to high school juniors who excel in math & science. The "Consider Engineering" program is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to apply principles you have learned in high school to engineering problems. Learn and have fun as one of 102 students who will be selected competitively to spend four days in Orono at the University of Maine with all program costs being paid by The University of Maine Pulp and Paper Foundation. Stop by the Guidance Office for more information.

PEOPLE TO PEOPLE SUMMIT - The guidance department has received several nomination forms for the internationally recognized People to People 2011 Summit.~ If you are in grades 9-11 and are interested in being nominated then please let your guidance counselor know no later than April 8, 2010.

THE HARLEM SUPERSTARS ARE COMING - March 20, 2010 at 7:00 pm in the BEHS Gym.  $7 tickets in advance / $8 at the door -- tickets available at the BEMS and the BEHS athletic office.

PROJECT SPROUT - A small group of high school students at a Massachusetts high school lead a 12,000 square foot organic, student-initiated, student-run vegetable garden at their school. Classes visit almost every day, and teh garden, which includes an heirloom fruit orchard & a moveable hoop house, supplies the school cafeteria with fresh produce. Come hear these inspiring young students speak about Project Sprout at St. Joseph's College on Thursday, March 25th at 6:30pm. The event will take place in the Chalet at St. Joseph's Hall. This event is sponsored by teh Saco Valley/Lakes Region Food Policy Council, an independent group of citizens determined to improve food security in MSADs #6, #55, and #61. A $3 donation is requested to help the students cover travel expenses. Refreshments will be provided by Bon Appetit of St. Joseph's College. BE CAR SHOW - Date: Sunday May 16th - Set up 7:00am - Gates open 8:00am. All school groups are encouraged to attend and are given one (1) free booth space to do a fundraiser. Second booth fee is $50.  Groups are requested to bring their own tables and chairs and we highly recommend an EZ up tent. NATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP FORUM ON MEDICINE - for "our nation's most promising future physicians" to be held this summer. See Ms. Hubbard if you are interested in being nominated (room 302). Nominations are due March 10.

THE HOLLIS ALTERNATIVE ED PROGRAM - is having a bottle drive, Saturday April 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is to help our program in its goal of raising funds in order to build a ropes course at our new location at Jack Memorial!

UPDATED SCHOLARSHIP LISTING - The latest scholarship list as of 3/09/2010 is available in the Guidance Office and on the Guidance Web Page. Also, a reminder, that the Local Scholarship Application is available. Please see Ms. Wallace in Guidance.

LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION - Attention Seniors! - The local scholarship application is now available at Ms. Wallace's desk in the Guidance Office (Blue Application Form). Please stop by and pick one up today! This one application covers many local scholarships that will be announced at graduation. In past years, scholarships included in this application added up to over $70,000! Deadline for this application is April 16th.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MAINE - If you have been accepted to the University of Southern Maine, then you may be able to be nominated for a $5,000 renewable scholarship!  The Creating Maine's Future Presidential Scholarship will award two scholarships of up to $5,000/year for the next three years.  Students will be selected on the basis of scholastic achievement, demonstrated leadership, and exceptional personal qualities.  Please stop in to the guidance office and let Mrs. Wallace know if you have been accepted to USM.

FRANK STOCKS MEMORIAL FUND - This $2000 scholarship will be awarded to a Bonny Eagle High School student based on scholastic achievement, involvement in school and community activities, and good citizenship. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be submitted to Ms. Wallace in guidance when complete. Deadline is April 15, 2010

PROJECT SPROUT COMES TO MAINE – has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 25, 6:30 pm at St. Joseph’s College in Standish, Me.  The Project Sprout presentation is sponsored by the Saco Valley Lake Region food Policy Council, an independent group of citizens determined to improve food security in MSAD #6, #55 and #61. This project has created a 12,000 square foot and growing student run organic garden used by kindergartens and high school seniors alike. A $3.00 donation is requested to help students cover travel expenses.
