Bonny Eagle Adult Education Graduation 2009

Mission:
The mission of Bonny Eagle Adult Education is to provide a learning environment that fosters student success, encourages lifelong learning, and meets changing community needs.

Dear Community Members,

Welcome to Bonny Eagle Adult Education, part of MSAD #6 school district. The information on this home page will give you a general description of Adult Education programs. You will find a complete listing of individual courses, and a link to our brochure at: http://www.sad6.maineadulted.org. This information will be posted several weeks before the start of each semester. (We have two semesters: fall and winter/spring.)

The webpage allows you to search for a course even if Bonny Eagle is not offering it. Type in the name of a course you're interested in, your zip code, and the number of miles you're willing to travel. With another click, course details are presented, along with a Google map showing the location of the course.

You can also register online via the webpage. However, if you prefer, you can still call us @ 929-9185 and register using your credit card, or send your registration via the mail.

Please call us with questions, or email me at: cwalz@sad6.k12.me.us. Remember, we are Your Community Link to Lifelong Learning, and we want to provide the best opportunities for you!

SMCC at Bonny Eagle

Did you know that Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) is offering classes at SAD #6 through the Adult Education program? Feedback from students has also been positive. As you can guess, people appreciate being able to take classes close to home - especially with gas prices the way they are!

For more information about courses at Bonny Eagle go to SMCC's webpage at http://www.smccME.edu. You can register online if you are a current SMCC student. If you're a new student, contact SMCC Enrollment Services @ 741-5800. If you need college refresher courses, or want to take the Accuplacer, call Adult Education (929-9185/642-4132). We offer Math Essentials for College, Algebra 1, and Writing and Composition - all can help you prepare for college success!

Bonny Eagle juniors and seniors are also eligible for SMCC courses through the Early College program. Qualified students can have their tuition waived. Please check with the BEHS guidance office.

All classes held at either Bonny Eagle Middle School or Bonny Eagle High School.

For more information, call Enrollment Services at 741-5800 or email either Cathy Walz at cwalz@sad6.k12.me.us or Mary Jo O'Connor at mconnor@smccme.edu

GED PROGRAM

The GED is the popular name for the High School Equivalency Tests. The tests were rewritten for 2002 and are more workplace related. Anyone working with The Training Resource Center must pre-register for all adult education courses and receive approval from the Training Resource Center.
